🔒 Privacy Policy for miniCycle
Last Updated: May 2, 2026
Effective Date: October 2, 2025
Policy Version: 2.5
📋 Plain-English Summary
miniCycle does not collect personal data. The app keeps your tasks, routines, settings, reminders, and cycle history stored locally on your device. The marketing pages (product and learn-more) use a simple anonymous counter for page views and button clicks, but that counter does not store IP addresses, cookies, device identifiers, browser fingerprints, location data, or visitor profiles. No third-party analytics. No advertising trackers.
The miniCycle app itself is 100% private — your task data, routines, and settings never leave your device.
If you'd rather skip the marketing pages entirely, miniCycle.app takes you straight to the app.
Our Privacy Commitment
sparkinCreations is committed to transparency in its products. miniCycle is designed as a privacy-first application where you remain in full control of your data. All routines, tasks, reminders, and settings stay stored locally on your device.
The simple truth: miniCycle does not collect, store remotely, transmit, or access your routine data, task data, or personal information. Your data is stored locally on your own device and stays there. If you choose to submit feedback or contact us, we only use that information for the purpose you provided it.
What miniCycle Does Not Collect
miniCycle does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Account details or login credentials
- Routine, task, or cycle-completion data
- Usage analytics or tracking data from within the app
- Device information or IP addresses (no IPs are stored in any miniCycle database)
- Location data
- Advertising or profiling data
Anonymous Counter on Landing Pages
The marketing pages (product and learn-more) use a simple anonymous counter to record button clicks and page views, so we can see which content engages visitors and gauge overall traffic.
What is collected:
- The visible label of any clicked button or link (e.g., "Get Started", "View on GitHub")
- A page-view event when a marketing page is loaded
- A timestamp for each event, used only for aggregate trend charts
- A running total count for each named event
What is NOT collected:
- No cookies
- No names, emails, or personal identifiers
- No IP addresses are stored in our counter database
- No browser fingerprinting
- No referrer URL, geolocation, or device information
- No identifier links one event to another — events cannot be traced back to a specific visitor or session
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services
Scope. This counter runs only on the marketing pages. It does not run inside the miniCycle app, which has no analytics, telemetry, or third-party integrations of any kind. Like all websites, miniCycle is delivered through a hosting provider (Netlify); standard technical request handling by the hosting provider is separate from miniCycle's own systems, and we do not use hosting request data to identify visitors, build profiles, serve ads, or power analytics.
Data Stored on Your Device
All your data stays local. miniCycle stores the following information on your device using browser localStorage:
- Task lists and completion history
- Cycle configurations and progress
- Recurring task templates
- Reminder settings
- Theme preferences and unlock progress
- App settings and customizations
Important: This data remains on your specific device and browser. miniCycle cannot access this information remotely, and sparkinCreations has no visibility into your private task data. If you switch browsers or devices, your data will not transfer unless you manually export and import it.
Optional Features
miniCycle may include optional features that allow you to share limited data if you choose. Examples include:
- Browser notifications - If enabled, task names will appear in your device's notification center (managed by your operating system). This means task data becomes visible outside the app and may be seen by others with access to your device. You can enable or disable this at any time in the Reminders settings
- Submitting feedback or bug reports - May include your comments and optional contact information
- Exporting routines - You control where exported .mcyc files are saved
- Participating in beta features - Some new features may require limited data sharing to function. No beta feature will transmit task data unless you are clearly told first and explicitly opt in.
Use of these features is always voluntary. miniCycle will never transmit your task or routine data from your device unless you explicitly choose to activate one of these features. You will always be clearly informed before any data leaves your device.
Purpose of Optional Data
Any optional data you decide to share is used solely for its stated purpose:
- Improving the app based on your feedback
- Enabling features you've requested (like exports or sharing)
- Troubleshooting technical issues you've reported
We will never:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising or profiling
- Share your data beyond its stated purpose
- Keep your data longer than necessary
Security & Technical Safeguards
miniCycle is designed to keep your task data private and secure:
- No remote transmission - Your data never travels over the internet unless you use an optional export/sharing feature
- No servers storing your task data - miniCycle does not maintain servers that store your routines, tasks, cycle history, reminders, or settings
- Input sanitization - Protection against malicious code injection
- Browser security - Data stored in standard browser security contexts
- Secure optional features - If you choose to use features that transmit data, that data is handled securely and only for its intended purpose
Your Rights & Control
Since miniCycle does not collect or remotely access your app data, you maintain control on your own device:
- Delete - Clear your data anytime through the app's "Factory Reset" option or by clearing browser data
- Export - Download your data as .mcyc files whenever you want
- Access - All your data is already accessible to you locally
- Correct - Edit your tasks and settings directly in the app
- Transfer - Export and import data to move between devices
Privacy Principles & Regulations
This policy is designed with the following privacy principles in mind:
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - European Union
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) - United States
- Other applicable privacy laws and best practices
Since miniCycle doesn't collect personal data inside the app, most privacy regulations have limited applicability to our data practices. We've designed the product to align with the spirit of these standards regardless.
This does not mean every regulation applies to miniCycle in every situation, but the app is designed around privacy principles such as transparency, user control, data minimization, and clear consent.
Children's Privacy
miniCycle does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13. App data stays local on the device. Since we have no access to that data, we cannot determine the age of our users. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of any web application.
